After messing with Blogger for years. I (hopefully successfully) have become an author on my own blog.

A while ago I pruned/ topped a Ficus Lyrata. Sometimes known by  it's casual name as Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees.. They are really cool houseplants that get BIG and have interesting leaf structure. They can be quite expensive.

After I topped the plant I realized she would make an excellent clone for propagation. So, I basically did what I do with marijuana clones.. aside from the fancy shit I use like root hormones, humidity domes etc.. I was able to cut into a lot of different node sites.. I cut her leaves back a little bit, cause they were so big and when you cut the leaves back like that the plant will spend more time focussing on rooting.  Then I just dropped her in a glass vase filled with regular water from the sink. Left her in front of a window that gets a lot of sun light.

I was quite pleased I got her to root in about 10 days.. which is really fast for not having a whole propagation set up at home.  I love watching the roots grow!

It's also rooting from some  of the upper node sites I cut, but unsurprisingly the lowest node has the strongest roots. The upper nodes will get stronger eventually.

At  some point my little friend will look something like this.. unless of course Meowmar destroys it
